Charlie Burt was born in 1996 in Rutland, Vermont, and grew up splitting time between Vermont, Wyoming and England. His travels have taken him to 17 countries and 49 states and territories. His interest in photography grew due to the need to share his travels with loved ones that were not able to join. Burt strives to create works that have the ability to emotionally transport any viewer.
Burt earned a BA in Film and Photography from Montana State University in 2019. While attending university, he studied under Guggenheim Fellow Ian van Coller and alternative process master Christina Z. Anderson. Burt's mentors pushed him to create works that inspire and intrigue their viewers.
Charlie Burt has also enjoyed a successful film career as an Executive Producer / Producer. His projects have been in competition at festivals such as Festival de Cannes, Berlinale, TIFF, Sundance, Tribeca, Sitges and more before selling to outlets such as Amazon, Shudder, Canal+ and more. His film works largely focus on voices that are not represented in mainstream media.
When Burt is not behind a lens, he enjoys riding motorcycles, snowboarding, fly fishing and anything else that gives him the opportunity to spend time with loved ones.
